8th September 2017 – Sheikhupura: Greenstar Social Marketing (Sabz Sitara) inaugurated its third Portable Container Health Center (PCHC) in district Sheikhupura, Punjab. The ceremony took place at village Noon where Mr. Wolfgang Möllers, Dirctor KfW Pakistan Office, inaugurated the Portable Container Health Center. Dr. Masuma Zaidi, the Project Coordinator Health Sector at KfW was also present on this occasion.
The Portable Container Health Centers project is financed by the German Government through KfW, the portable model health center can be developed and made fully functional in less than one month time period. This readymade health center is equipped with all basic necessary equipment to provide maternal and newborn health care services and could be easily transported to any part of the country. The objective of this project is to contribute towards the economic growth and development of the Country through women empowerment, reduction in poverty, ensuring good health and well-being and gender equality.
Mr. Wolfgang Möllers expressed the German Government’s support for the Portable Container Health Center project through KfW and gave his heartiest congratulations to the Management of Greenstar Social Marketing for reaching the most remote areas of Pakistan with much needed health services. He lauded the efforts of Greenstar for implementing this innovative project to bring a positive change in the lives of poor communities. During the ceremony, Mr. Möllers was taken on a round of the health center, with a briefing by Dr. Syed Azizur Rab, the CEO of Greenstar Social Marketing. Mr. Möllers expressed his pleasure on the work done, particularly with the economic dividends that such initiatives are going to bring for the people of rural Pakistan.
The ceremony was concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Haroon Ibrahim, the Program Manager KfW Programs at Greenstar, who expressed his gratitude to the German Government for their support through KfW for establishing the Portable Container Health Centers and contribution towards a healthy and prosperous Pakistan.
