Harnessing Public Private Partnership 1/22/2007

One of the priority areas of the Population Welfare Program is strengthening of Public Private Sector Organisations (PPSOs). The PPSOs partnership is aimed at encouraging the predominant male workforce of around 41 million in the reproductive age group for adopting small family norms. To this end, Ministry of Population Welfare (MoPW) organised a seminar on ‘Leadership Initiatives on Public Private Sector Collaboration in Reproductive Health and Family Planning’ at the Serena Hotel, Islamabad on January 13th, 2007. Mr. Shukat Aziz, Prime Minister Pakistan was the Chief Guest. In addition to MoPW and other public sector senior officials, representatives of commercial and private sector attended the seminar. Greenstar Social Marketing actively participated in the event to reiterate the cause and strengthen MoPW’s Public Private Sector initiative for a healthier Pakistan. Through this national conference, MoPW aimed to mobilise indigenous philanthropy for sustaining the RH/FP initiatives in the country. Such an initiative will be a breakthrough in MoPW’s efforts to bridge the gap between knowledge and practice in inculcating responsible parenthood. Celebrating a new beginning-TB cured patients shar 1/19/2007

TB had shattered my confidence and now I feel a new life, motivated and energetic, said young college student Ms. Nida Shafique, a cured TB patient in Karachi. Nadia was sharing her experience with the public in a gathering celebrating first thirty cured patients by Greenstar Social Marketing. Nida was one of the thirty cured patients present on the occasion.
